As I promised last year to all the fans of my collages and specially of my Gentle Giant collage that I was gonna make another collage for them. well there you have it and I am hoping you guys liked like it as much as the other. I think this one is cooler. This quiet amazing band deserve it. Gentle Giant is defiantly on the most underrated of all them all but one the most important prog band from the past however they made the most exquisite, original prog music ever. Yes it had been awhile since my very last collage (Led Zeppelin), however as I said before thanks to my strong deep love and conviction, I managed to continue making collages 3 years later. Just for pure love of the music not money. Music had changed my life completely. Music that still and will always have a strong meaning to me as it satisfies my soul as food does to the body. This time...? The most important band in the history of heavy metal and creator of the genre that also happens to be one of the greatest band in the history of rock and Roll. It is a real please and honor to make this collage to this band that we all love and I am sharing it with you. "Black Sabbath". If you are wondering why I didn't include DIO and the rest of BS vocalists plus other musicians it is because to me this is the true original black sabbath band the one with Ozzy. However, I am working of one for DIO years too so, No worries!!! DIO fans jajaja .I will also make an all complete sabbath college. so I guess you will see 2 more BS collages in the next few months. I hope you guys like it

SI hace bastante tiempo desde hice mi ultimo collage ( Led Zappelin) sin embargo como he dicho antes que gracias a mi grande amor y convicion he seguido haciendo collages solo por el amor a la musica y tributo No por dinero. este tipo de banda y msucia tienen un tan grande significado para mi vida que no c como explicarlo.Solo c que es hecido bien feliz en haberla descubrido y aceptado. Este ultimo collage fue dedicado a la banda mas importante de el heavy metal y creador de este genero musical. Que tambien son una de la bandas mas importante de mundo de rock and Roll. Es un gran placer y honor para mi dedicar mi tiempo creado este collage para la banda que todos amamos.Si se estan preguntado que porque no inclui a DIO y los otros musicos y volcalista por la simple y llana razon que para mi los verdaderos Black Sabbath es con Ozzy.Ozzy uno de los miembross y uno de los fundadores, mas querido de la banda. Hi Fellas and Followers. I want to take this opportunity to thanks you all for the great comments, encouraging words and feedback I had received over the years as a collage artist. Thank you very much/ Also I want to share few things. I had been creating collages for 4 years now and many of you have them as your wallpapers and even had purchased me a digital copies and prints. Thanks for that, but for those that haven't all I asked is a small donation as little as $5 bucks or buy me a print ( 12x18 high quality) for $20 dollars. As you might not know I don't get hire to make these collages. but I invest tons of hours creating them as passion I have for art and these bands' music. I live to love and breath these artist music and this my tribute to them, however as a starving artist I do wish to make a buck or 2 with this hard work. Es un gran placer y orgullosamente para mi presentarle este banner y mas tarde publicare el collage que he echo para este nuevecito y ecitante programa radial para nosotros los amantes de rock classico y progresivo de los 60's y 70's. Su gran animadora y bellesima presentadora Yenny Conocida como "la maga". Maga porque yo que tengo mas de 24 anos ya escuchando prog y rock y cada dia anadiendo nuevas bandas me sorprendo con la tan poco conocidas y super buenisimas bandas que " la maga" nos presenta para educarnos todos los jueves. Es algo soprendente saber que hay tantas buenas bandas que nunca realmente llegaron a su extrellato y no puderion darce a donocer. me siento tan bien por tener la dicha de conocer esta bandas gracias a la sabiduria de la maga. Haste tu tambien parte de esta familia que esta estabilizada en un lugar que lamentablemente el prog es una musica como de cabernicolas y tan poco apreciada La Republica Dominica sin embargo eso podrias cambiar!. Hardest and most fustrating collage of all the time.

Perhaps my hardest collage ever!. Not because it was hard to make ( I had made harder), but because the history behind it long history . Now I guess I am dedicating to most popular artist and their greatest albums according to Rollings Stones Magazine 500 Albums of all time.

Ok, I'll give the story. This collage was intentionally made for a music download web page, however we couldn't come to few agreements and the collage didn't' end up in the page and it was rejected. Hardest? to the great hardest and time it took to make. I started and almost completed it and my MAC hard-disk got damage and I lost the whole collage. Few weeks later I finally got my the PC and trusting my memory, I went and created a replica that sat in my memory, Not PC memory, but my brain. I got super excited. The client wanted to see how i was doing so I sent it to him and he didn't like the whole collage, but only the bottom part of the collage. which you are seeing right now, however I still was asked to add few more images. The idea was to created a collage for the greatest albums of all time which to my knowledge it will represent all the music genres , specially American music.. but I guess we weren't on the same page and he wanted me to add images of all the type of music and best to his taste. from rap, country, metal, rock, prog, punk, disco you name it and I was overwhelm and frustrated. I guess because I had done all my collages even for clients whatever I want as they trusted my skill and taste I guess. Well not this time. Well I wouldn't say that he doesn't like my style or collages otherwise I wouldn't got the job, but the problem here was that he wanted a college of numerous pictures that didn't make any sense what so ever and I couldn't make it work and believe I tried hard very hard. I never gave up trying to satisfy any client ,but I wouldn't work for anyone if I don't want to use any images that I disagree on or I believe it doesn't fix any of my work. I am saying so openly to all you guys followers of my collage so you guys know how I work. also I want to informing you that no now I am asking 50% advance if i do anywork for your guys as I didn't get pay a dime for all this extremely hard work.

Welcome Back My Friend To The Show That never End.

It is about time that I make collage for one the top 70's prog band of all time. Prog rock is Dead? I don't think so. It is more alive than back in their hey Days!. many had forgot ( VH1 Classic) how famous ELP was in the 70's. that they complete ignored them. ELP was one the band that got me into prog back in the 80's at the age of 14. I remember buying the first ELP and I was musically blown way, Man! what a great record and it didn't sound dated at all. This most be one the fastest collage I ever made that i like a lot. I like the simplicity of this one.

Stand up! This Was a Benefit for a Thick As a Passion Play.

In between having a baby boy ( Abel Gabriel Adames) on Nov 1 (a true lovely gift from God), moving to a new apartment. I managed to finish the very long waited Jethro Tull collage. it took me forever. As my other works I worked very hard to create this collage. I tried so hard so it can be unique from the others, but within the same style. An artist regardless what he or she does his style is very important and it has to be recognizable. I am saying this because I all ready heard that my collages are all the same. Specially since I created The PA banner and Header some of the PA members that dislike my collages came out to the light and had tried to vaporize my collages distasteful comments. It isn't that I only want to hear positive comments or I want everyone to go nuts about them , but I share them with you guys because basically"I" pretty positive that you guys will appreciate the hard work i put to these collages (and hopefully like), as you had in the past years really.
Let me remind you guys once again. I don't get pay to make these collages. I make them from my pure and genuine love for prog bands that the rock world of today had really forgotten. Bands like Jethro Tull, You turn on the cable box, change it to VH1 classic and you will notice bands like Jethro Tull are highty ignored. when the band sold 100,000 of Records in 70's, had 11 gold and five platinum albums.
Once again I am hoping that you guys appreciate this collages as you had in the past.

Greatest Drummer's Collage reflections by Scott Tuffnell

Once Again I am presenting you the Great English Writer and Teacher Mr. Scott Tuffnell's review of the my recent collage dedicated to the drummers.

Well tighten your wing nuts and tension rods, along comes the most prolific drum roll of fabulous drummers in glorious black and white noir. There are more drummers here than you can bang a gong to. Neil Peart, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Carl Palmer, Ginger Baker, Bill Bruford, Ian Paice and Mike Portnoy for a start. There are metal legends such as Bill Ward and frontmen such as Phil Collins looming out of the darkness from “Face Value” album. Robert Wyatt is there in his mystical white beard, Nick D'Virgilio from the mystical Spock's Beard, and Alan White looking simply... er, mystical.
The drum kits are there as evidence, weapons of mass destruction that have pummeled the ears of listeners for decades of classic rock and jazz fusion; crash cymbals, rides and splashes glisten as lights dance off them, and even the drumsticks can be seen in the hands of the protagonists. Look hard and you may see a cowbell or chimes, congas and bongos, hi hats and bass drums and the occasional accordion in Giles's hands.
The black and white approach is appropriate as it encompasses the legends from time gone by and the legends of modern prog such as Nick Mason and Christian Vander with his hand crawling over his face in true Magma style. Bruford sits in his own reflection in contemplative fashion while Peart prefers to bash out his contemplative troubles. Each corner of the poster features a true drumming legend, from jazz to heavy prog. The faces encircle the centrifugal drum while a plethora of drummers crowd the bottom of the poster. There is Jon Theodore, of Mars Volta, Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree, Pierre Moerlen of Gong, Sib Hashian of Boston and Michi Dei Rossi of Le Orme. The collage is as tight as a drum and a finely tuned piece of art.
This is a heavenly depiction for drummers worldwide.

Genesis collage reflections By Scott Tuffnell

Genesis collage reflections:

The Genesis collage at first glance encompasses all the power and glory of a Genesis concert. The ‘Seconds Out’ lighting rays are out in force beaming down like beacons of hope upon the Genesis members themselves. Gabriel looks resplendent in medieval garb and sinister face adorned with metal feathered helmet. Hackett concentrates on acoustic guitar seen through the bars of waterfall lightrays cascading down like walls of smoke. Banks is lit up in an aura of glowing yellow, glorious in his lustrous light. The other members are present too but are dominated by the multiple progressive disorder of the many personalities of Gabriel. He is seen in flower mode from Supper’s Ready and the Willow Farm persona is here as well as the ominous makeup persona from the 70s. His pyramid head lurks over the horizon, a menacing imposing image. Phil Collins belts out a ballad in the corner showing the new non threatening Genesis line up, and many other pictures merge in to the light show.

However below all this the striking album covers of the early years are the main focus. The Trespass drapes bookend the frames. Foxtrot’s fox walks on the water, singing out to an unseen crowd, as a whale roars out of the waves in safe distance. The Lamb Lies Down figure has an ethereal presence on the waves. The other figure watches thoughtfully as Genesis members trot forward on horse back ready for the hunt. Of course they will not catch the fox as he safely walks on an ocean.

The Nursery Cryme girl gets ready to use her flamingo to knock the hunting dogs out of the way to save the fox. In the distance on the blackened sooty beach there are images of trees that wind and wither and scenes of Armageddon, mushroom clouds and the cross of Jesus – destruction and redemption - an apocalypse in the past. The Selling England by the Pound tramp rests eternally and the incongruous images of Duke and other album covers haunt his sleep. They dance dreamlike in his subconscious and the presence of unknown shapes create an ethereal ambience, Dali like yet completely and ferociously unique to his experience.

On the croquet field there are artifacts, antiques and museum pieces that have been left in no particular order. The chaos of the scene is only brought to order by a shadowy figure that has released thousands of birds that fly upwards into the smoke filled psychedelic collage of Genesis.

Canterbury Collage

I love this collage and may change my desktop soon from Yes collage to this.... My interpretation is:

This is a psychedelic kaleidoscopic galaxy of the Canterbury era. Gongs Flying Teapot soaring high above Planet Gong into the stratosphere is inspirational. Soft Machine are lurking behind the supernova, their numbers simply make a statement of their longevity and lack of album titles in those early golden years. The camel looks so at home beside the Gong temple. The colours that swirl in the night sky churn up the Canterbury icons that are hidden in the starburst. Planets hang in space encompassing an era of Canterbury imagery.

Outside the frame many characters spill out. Matching moles and a Rotters Club lady mind their own business and Caravan’s sleeping beauty, resplendent in her magnificence, simply ignores all, including the statuesque figures, and continues her eternal rest. The Rotters Club lady draws a picture of Soft Machine’s ultimate album and other ladies write letters to unknown lovers. Henry Cow's floating sock hangs ominously and incongruously. A beam of light bursts through the clouds and a Holy priest raises his arms in adulation. Hatfield’s villages peer Thur the maelstrom and overseeing all is the eye of knowledge that glows brightly like an iridescent beacon, a symbol of hope, lighting up the darkness.

Dream Theater Collage

Extraordinary achievement again. Fabulous use of Octavarium with references to cover art throughout their prolific career, I like the refelctions on the water and the subtleties of using the logo. The colour juxtaposition is commendable too with heavy use of aqua, scarlet and violet. The images on Newton's Cradle look great too. This is one of your best Darksideof.

Gentle Gaint Collage

Gentle Giant Collage

Another fantastic collage capturing the essence of progenitors of Canterbury, Gentle Giant. I like the use of the water how the Octopus lurks beneath and the severed hand rises as a phoenix threatening to snatch the band from the stage. The Giant with band in hand is like a monument and looks as iconic as the band's imagery on their albums. The concert photos are great but I particularly like the lighting like lasers cascading down from the heavens.

There is not as much colour this time but the band were never into colourful covers when you consider them. I would have liked to have seen the inclusion of the 'Acquiring the Taste' tongue and 'The Missing Pience' jigsaw piece somewhere as they are great albums. However, the inclusion of 'Power and the Glory''s king is subtle and works well.

Impossible to fault when you consider how much trouble you have gone through to make this an amazing original tribute to the band.

edit: Wow I just looked again and the missing jigsaw piece was there in the Giants head! - I missed that - devilishly clever!

Darksideof, you have done it again, and these are your darkest collages yet with all sorts of images from Slayer, Kiss' Destroyer to AcDc's Angus, Iron Maiden's Eddie and Rush's 2112 classic symbology, they are all here - the quintessential metal bands of history. Deep Purples Fireball, Sabbath, Heep, Wish you were Here PF, ELP, GGiant, Van Der Graaf Generator - I can't remember the rest.

You didnt miss a trick, even including Abbey Road! I like the metal influences better as I recognise the iconography of images - the most recognisable images in rock you might say as far as album covers go.

Where did that eyeball with the light shining originate from? Looks familiar...

The collages are both very complex works and you could stare at them for hours and still not quite take everything in. Some images are in the dark or merging from the darkness and I suppose thats where they belong when it comes to metal. Metallica would agree. Did I see the Death Magnetic coffin in there? I remember an ear and a dragon, and of course Fly By Night owl is there on the collage too.

I certainly think they would make nice posters on somebody wall.

I am more into the eclectic, symphonic side of prog myself but still appreciate the effect of prog metal on the genre. I recently got into Therion and Pain of Salvation and am now listening to Visual Cliff - great metal by any standards.

Yes Collage

That is an excellent celebration of both the magnificent Yes and their glorious collaboration with Roger Dean - the two are synonymous really. I liked the version without the band members, although if you placed the one shot of them (the middle band sot in the wave) it may be sufficient to promote the band rather than the clutter of many varied shots - less is more you would agree in this case.

The Dean collage is superb, the colour palette using cool blue pastels and a light Close to the Edge green is atmospheric. I love those glacial formations and the floating Avatar Hallelujah Mountains are stunning!

The ominous Fragile planet looms over all as an eye in the sky and the Topographic landscape beckons the naked visitor who stands transfixed and spellbound by the majesty of creation.

It looks like Gates of Delirium in the centre and all the formations are as iconic as the Yes logo that is framed at the top of the collage, reminiscent of the album covers.

The juxtaposition of light and shade is subtle and effective. In fact the spatial sections are balanced perfectly to enhance the design. This should be on a compilation album. In fact on the cover of a magazine

Well, there you have it ! I worked my ass off for the past 4 weeks to make this collage. It is 4:50 Am when I am done. Well i promised i was gonna be done by sunday sorry fellas! what happen was that dear pregnant wife prohibited me to work all day on the mac! , but right now she is sleeping and I got to finished it ! I hope you guys like it. and my hard work pays off!

Hello, prog family from the around the world!
My first collage for the year. There you have it as I promised on my last post. This time is for one the greatest and more important band for the for this type of rock that we all love.
YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES,YES,
Their early music was an innovation to the world of rock that changed the life of many young people from around the world. I was one of these kids. I have been a Yes fan for many years now and still love them. However, is it their early music that still I adore and still inspire me to as artist and as human being. Jon lyrics are so beautifully sang that had made me cry for joy and made me believe that music can make you happy even if you have no clue when he says: "A seasoned witch could call you from the depths of your disgrace, And rearrange your liver to the solid mental grace".What can I say about Yes' well know album cover artist Mr. Roger Dean. His work quiet breath taking me. I used to copy his work on school notes when I was 14 years old. I can vividly remember stareding at his Yes' artwork while listening to the music and simply being overwhelm by it.. wow what a a great experience and unforgettable and I was only 13 then. It is an extremely pleasure and honor to do this collage and mess with his all ready wonderful breath taking artwork. I am hoping that I didn't f**k them up!.
As some of you guys might know all ready about my collages I try extremely hard to create my collages as an unique and interesting as something that weren't done before as collage goes.
I made 2 versions of the collage as you might noticed all ready. The first it is an all and only Roger Dean Yes' albums collage and the second is with the band imaging. I guess I did 2 version because I first started with dean artwork and then I started with the band fotos, but when I was done with Dean's images I liked it very much and I thought I was fine the way it was, but not complete. so I made 2

Finally! I started working on my first YES collage. Yes is one the greatest and one of the originator of the progressive rock!.I should finish by the end of the month Hopefully! I will keep you guys post it..!

Hello Prog Family from around the world.
Let me start by saying that 2009 was a great year in for the prog world. Many great prog albums came out this year from the best bands around. (PT, DT, Riverside, TMV.)

And it was such amazing year for my collages. I managed to make about 4 or 6 this year if my memory doesn't forsake me. It was a lot fun and a pleasure to make these collages for you the fan of my work and this particular music that we all love.
2010 is also gonna be an amazing year God's willing if I am alive of course you never know!
I have many plans to make many collages this year coming up.
Here is what I have in mind:
1. YES finally! I am taking too long to make a collage of my favorite of all time.
2. ECM Recording Artists and Masters, Jan Garbarek, Everhard Weber, Terje Rypdal, Ralp Towner etc..) As you might not be aware I am also a pretty big Jazz/Fusion fan and I think these arstist made many progressive Jazz albums.
3. Marillion I have been ask by many fans and the band even won a pollas second place, that I had awhile back about what should be my next collage, however I didn't promised my words. Sorry Marillion fans!.
4.? not quiet sure, but maybe a Kansas or Jethro Tull I will post it.

Hi, Fellas!
It is me again, your prog collage designer (Darksideof).
Well, in celebration of my lastest collages dedicated to prog-metal I am just had an idea of playing a guessing game. the winner will get a personal collage for free from me. A collage of all the bands and albums of your preference and they don't have to be an all prog collage. (punk, jazz, country, metal, pop, salsa, samba anything)

Here is what you have to do:
Try to guess all the bands and the albums that used in both collages. well at least 85% of all them. I know that the collages called progressive Metal influences is easier to all us, (yes even me) but take your time with the 2nd collage when progressive United with Metal. I know it won't be an easy task becuase I had used many photo effect on most images and I had used over 100 images but some are obvious. I think,

a very large version will appear. I encourage you guys to do some heavy resource in order to get a great score.

I just thought that is a great way to promote our biggest progressive wave as we speak. Prog-Metal. There are over 100 bands out there making prog metal these days that even started as a metal band, however they are very obscure and unknown to even the average progressive rock fan like me. There are many other great bands as good as dream Theater that deserve the exposure. band Zero Hour and many others are quiet awesome..
I must confess as well that I am very new on the genre so doing this collages was a big challenge and a great experience because I had discover these bands that I never heard of them before.

Thanks for the great encouragement and breath taking comments. I deeply appreciated and like I said before you guys are my greatest motive to continue making collages.
I hope you like it( specially you brother Cathedral Black) and I hope you guys will use it as wallpapers. I had work extremely hard on these collages for almost 2 months working long hours almost each day and I very happy to finish it. Well i really stop because I would of be adding and adding more stuff and I think this was enough. I guess this might be the " mother of all collages" because I had used over 100 images to make it seriously...

This idea came thanks for all themany request to include bands or made a whole collage of bands that I never heard of or I don't even like.. sorry to say that, however, I do most of them anyway but not all.
So here is the deal:
I can make your personal collage for you only of a specific band or bands or a collage of your personal albums covers only. Also it can be of all the type of music you like. you name it and I will do it in my crazy Style of course . They don't have to be Prog bands. As I seen that some members signature have images of non-prog bands. I had seen some images of some albums that are soo cool that will look great with prog albums.
All you have to do is to tell me the bands and the albums. I will do the rest and I hope you like it.
The price I will charge can be negotiable, but it will be from $150 to $200 dollars (Printed) or $ 50.00 Only Jpeg image where you can printed yourself.

Hello Fellas
I all ready started working on my next collage. Can you guess what is about or for band it is ? Just read the title. Jee!
Well, this might be a different type of collage and maybe! I might go with the tradition collage design format or maybe NOT! je!
I can't see yest what my brain had restored for this particular work. Like most of my collages I usually had no idea what is going to be about or how it will end. I don't know it yet! Something dark and creepy I guess. Come back for details..
I am just amazed of fast is growing and extended the list is of progressive metal bands. Can you believe there are over 1,000 bands worldwide that falls into this category. I personally know only a hand full of all of these and I will only focus on these known band on the collage. I am apologizing up front just in case I forget some one's favorite.

Acquiring The Giant's Taste (Tribute to Gentle Giant).

Well, Once again I managed to finish another difficult collage.( 3 days straights with hardly any sleep)
Difficult because Gentle Giants is one for those bands that didn't have many albums
and the band pictures are hard to find.
Special high Resolution images, but I did what I could with what I found. It was with a great pleasure
to create this collage to the one bands that took me quiet sometime to get into back in the 80's.
However, now they are one the most important band in my whole in-tired collection
and in the History of Prog. GG is an unique band that created wonderful odd music.
Quiet Original to my ears and one of the lesser rock
prog band from the 70's. GG was a band to remember and it deserves more exposure..

Well, well, well I just started working on the Collage This time Mighty "Gentle Giant". One the best prog band, but one the most ignorant by the rock media, but not by prog fans of course. Gentle Giant disparate from the prog music scene sadly to say because to the poor sells of their last few albums in the late 70's. However their are albums are some of the most interesting and original rock prog albums you will ever heard. The bands members were super talented and multi-instrumentalists. With that in mind and I am creating the collage. Gentle Giant deserve recognition and praise as much as the others popular prog bands that we all know.

Hello, My dear friends and admires of my work.

I decided to write to post because recently when I printed the Genesis collage I was so amazed this collage looks on print. I thought that I haven't really say much about the prints so it is time. I am not saying this to persuade you to buy my collages, (even thought that will help me finally and financely) but because it is time for me to tell you how good they really area. If you are thinking of buying some, you will know what you are getting. I go to a printshop of this fella and compatriot graphic designer who happens to invest $ 25,000 Dollars of his printer. If you like my work all ready digitally you will love the prints. The colors are very vividly alive and pure. The details of the very tyny images are all visible and clear. quiet amazing.!

With great pleasure and honor I just happen to finish the Genesis Collage. Actually there are few areas that I would of work a bit more, but If I would continue I would never finish I will end up it ruining it and changing it . Jee!
It is 6: 33 Am Sunday Morning and I worked on it since Saturday after noon about around 2:00 PM. I Am a bit tired at this moment, however I am very satisfy. I like that final result and I had so much fun doing this collage. what a challenge!
Genesis is one those bands that I truthfully love for many years now so it was excited doing it. It took me quiet some time I think about 2 to 4 weeks and almost none stop. I worked on it about 5 hours each day almost every single day. Even my cousin asked why I don't get tired. and I told me " To me doing this collages of these bands is like giving back to them what I had got all these years. Lovable and unforgettable memories. So I don't ".
I had literately stopped on the side walk (actually I was drunk about 2 months ago when this happen) to let the music of Genesis transport me to this place that only music can take you. I was doing air guitar drums , keys, bass and in tears singing a Genesis tune. I don't even know how to explain it and I hope you know what I mean. I can say that I can't live with the music of band like Genesis So instance, powerful, joyful and emotional. Peter and Phil voice had me bring tears with my eyes. So with that great love and honor I dedicated this collage to Majesty GENESIS.
I am hoping everyone enjoy and for those that voted for Genesis there you have it . You guys are my energy bar to work so hard on this collage.

Well, as a today Genesis officially won my very first poll here at my blog. I want to thanks all the fellah that voted and visited my blog : THANKS".

It is with great pleasure and honor to start creating a collage of my beloved, favorite and adored band since my childhood.GENESIS. I grew up listening to Genesis music new and old in the 80's.

My dear uncle "Chang" introduced me the band with their 3rd live album "3 sides lives" but I all ready knew Phil Collins the early 80's. However when I heard Genesis I was so enamored with their sounds that never left me. 2 to 3 years later I heard that the first Genesis singer was Peter Gabriel. I was in shock and I couldn't believe it because I also liked Peter's solo music. I finally heard Genesis with Pet ( Selling England by The pound) and I even loved even more. It became one of my favorite band after pink floyd. A band I like and mostly love all their songs even the pop ones from the 80's No replay at all, The land of Confusion are great pop tunes.. Even after 24 years of listening to the same Genesis albums they still impress me and my love grows bolder. Supper ready is a masterpiece and The Lamb. Their music had changed my life even since I heard them for the first time I heard them. Other wise I wouldn't be writing all of this and I wouldn't be dedicating countless hours when I make the collages.

I talk to you guys soon around here and I hoping that it will as good as the others collages.

Bueno, oficialmente Genesis ha ganado mi primer poll aca por mi blog. Quiero darle la coordial gracias a todos los panas que votaron y por su visitas. Se lo agradesco de corazon.

Es con gran placer y honor empesar hacer un collage a mi amada y una de las mas querida banda desde mi infancia GENESIS. Yo me crie y creci escuchando a Genesis en los 80's con sus discos viejos y los recientes en aquel entoces. Mi tio Querido Maestro de prog " Chang" me entroduje a los viejos Genesis con el 3 side live auque ya yo conocia a Phil Collins, pero cuando escuche canciones como in the cage y afterglow me impresionaron tanto que nunca han dejado de sonar en mis oidos. Una maestrosa banda haciendo un maestroso sonido incomparable . 2 o 3 anos despues supe que Peter Gabriel fue el primer cantante de Genesis no lo pude creer porque nunca lo asocie con ellos. Finalmente escuche Selling England By The Pond y mi amor por Genesis crecio aun mas que se convitio en una de las banda que mas amo como a pink floyd por mas de 25 anos . he colecionado todos sus albums desde casette hasta los nuevos boxset. son una gran joya!

24 anos despues de escuchar a Genesis por primera vez todavia me siguen impresionandome especialmente sus trabajos de los 70's, pero las canciones de los 80's me traen nostagia.

Super ready Y The lamb son obras maestra llevada a musica.

la musica de esta grandiosa banda ha estado en mi vida todos estos anos y han cambiado mi vida desde la primera vez que los escuche. Sino no estuviera escribiendo esto y no haria un collage que toma horas incontables para crear.

Zappa Bloddy Zappa! Tribute to Uncle Frank!

Well, there you have it!. for those that voted for Mr. Zappa! (well at Progressive Archives) I created this poll first where Mr. Frank won.
I have to admit this is must be one my hardest collage to make so far (that is why I called it Zappa bloody Zappa)
It was bloddy as hell! . je!
It was such a big challenge you have no idea! I had no f**king idea! knowing all ready that Zappas' artworks were all ready wild and crazy!. I didn't want to copy the styles of the original artworks. That was the biggest challenge.!
I want to create a piece of artwork to stand of it own from Zappas' albums and my other collages. I want to create something new but WILD!
However I was happy and glad of the final result.! what ya! think?

Bueno Gracias a todos los que votaron por el Senor Zappa! (En PA fue realmente donde el gano. Porque fue donde cree el poll primerante. perdon a los fans que votaron aqui por Genesis.
Le amito panas que este hacido el collage que me dado mas trabajo hasta el dia de hoy. por eso lo llame " Zappa Sangriento Zappa" fue un gran reto hacerlo por la simple razon que no tenia la menor idea que hiba hacer. Hice muchos cambios y la ideas estaba agotada. Como todos sabemos lo que conocemos las caratulas de los albums de Zappa que ya son bastante extranos y loquisimos. Yo queria crear algo que no asociara a esos trabajos y que tampoco se pareciera a mis otros collages que hecho hasta el dia de hoy. fue un gran reto pero me siento satisfecho con el resultado. Que creen?

Well, Soooooo, it is an "Uncle Frank" Collage that is coming up. At PA he won the poll (and I had been asked many times in the past) He did not win here at my blog, but he is very close anyway!...

It would be an honor to create a piece of work of all his albums' covers and images of Master Frank. or just fuck them up ja, ja.!!

Actually, this collage is going to be quiet a challange for me basicly because most Frank's albums covers are mostly carticatures of himself the band. Let's see what kind of madness would I create. I am guessing it would be quiet different from my other collages.

For the fans( as me) of The Creator Of Progressive Metal( Dream theater ) it is your time.
In about ( hopefully) 4 or 5 weeks I will be finish. I just started last night ( very late as usual). and I am hoping it isn't a copy of some of my other works. Well, it will be under my style, but I try to challenge myself with new ideas and Such so it won't look the same.. I always try extremely hard to create a collage that represent the band or the bands but alien all the collages from one another. . talk soon!
I am hoping you guys will love it as the others...
AND to give up a head up!

Porcupine Tree's Collage is in the making.

With pleasure and great joy I must announce that I just started my first Porcupine tree collage last night.
I said great joy because Porcupine Tree was the very first band I really love and new prog band I heard in the early 90's.
Before porcupine Tree I literally thought that Prog was surely dead and gone. It was a thing of the past. Old prog band weren't really making prog albums anymore I was just wasting my time and money with their albums they were making in the 90's.( Well, I did..lol)
In the 90's I mostly listen to my "Old Prog albums from the 60's and 70's and I was deeply becoming a Jazz fan. Another music genre that I love. jazz players were making great records and Jazz is an non commercial music that players have to demonstrate the beauty of their songs through their instruments. just like Yes and ELP and Pink Floyd In the 70's.
Thanks to a Pink Floyd fanzine ( Brian Damage) I heard of PT for the first time. They were reviewing Sky Moves side and Signify. The highly recommendation of their albums encourage and created this great eager to try to get the extremely hard albums.
PT were a band that didn't have a record deals in the USA and their albums were not available at all in the USA.
I happen to visit a used record store in the city where I was living at the time and with great luck I found Signify for 5 dollars. it was promotional copy that was sent to record label in the USA. I believed so. Listening to the album of the first time brought to mind great enjoyable and unforgeable memories. Like when I first heard of Pink Floyd's the dark side of the moon or Animals, king Crimson's In the court or Red and others wow! what a breath taking experience. I was in love all oven again with Prog. That old feeling I first got when I was a teen came back and my search for new prog began! and as the say the rest is history. look at me now with a prog blog!.JA!
I finally Saw PT for the first time 3 years later in 1999 (Stupid dream/ lightBulp Sun tour). It brought tears to my eyes how wonderful and beautiful all that new and old music sounded lived.
I was so amazed of how unknown this incredible new band was at that time.When I saw then it was a very tiny place with less than 100 people. I kept saying to myself : I know one day PT will be big with the prog fans. Years Went by I was not wrong look at them now. selling out Radio city Music hall in NYC.
I introduced them to my prog friends in The Dominican Republic and every single one of them love porcupine Tree to this day.I sometimes feel that my closest friend like them even more than me. ja!! He doesn't shut up taking about them
SOOOO that is why I said that it is with great pleasure and honor to make this collages dedicated to my beloved Los Arboles Herisos.
Be on the look out by the end of next Month...

Why and how I got into Prog?
Well, Since the age of 13 carajito (kid) I am been a progressive rock fan. Thanks to my dear uncle " Chang" La arana Negra" who brought a couple maxell tapes to the house (In the Dominican Republic) containing music of Yes (Drama) Rush (compilation of several albums) Pink Floyd ( WYWH & Animals) Kansas (2 for the Show) and let me tell you! it changed my life completely in all aspect and forever yeah forever. I almost completely stop listening to what was current in the 80's ( Metal bands and The Pop's). I started hanging outwith different people mostly older whom were very surprised that I was enjoying this type of rock from the 70's. I Started listening and building a collection of tapes and vinyls of Progressive Rock and jazz right after it.

RUSH became my passion and Air guitar,drums heroes. Pink Floyd became a "Sicodelico"dream which I haven't woke up yet! Tangerine Dream a imaginary voyage into the center of my imagination I had so many wonderful times listening to tangerine dream in the dark . It was like I was stepping into an inner-self world of happiness, relaxation and soul satisfaction. just like the music itself. extremely tripping and abstract. like a religious experience. I won't change it for nothing and did I mention that I was a kid? and obviously I wasn't using any drugs Thanks God.

I felt so much in love with Yes and Pink Floyd albums covers that I started copying them in all my school notebooks. I even made Yes hand made T.shirt with the Roger Dean's Yes logo. ( they were rare back in those days and I was too young and broke to buy any).
Roger Dean and Storm artwork were a major influence. I simply loved their artwork and I still do.
My dear uncle and I spent countless hours listening to records of Prog and Jazz. These bands were the one I remember we loved from day one:
Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Kansas, Genesis, Focus, le Orme, PFM, Jethro Tull, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Rush, ELP, Passport, Chick Corea RTF, Weather Report, The Pat Metheny Group, Jan Garbarek group, Eberhard Weber, Allan Holdsworth, Gong, Renaissance, Tangerine Dream.

In the 90s' we discovered all these bands.
early 90's:
National health, magma, frank Zappa, Camel, Hatfield and North, terje Rypdal, Keith Jarrett, We finally got into Miles Davis and Coltrane. so we became huge Miles Davis fans in the 90's.
Also VdGG, Gentle Giant, Area, Banco,
We literally didn't listen to nothing else and we didn't want to until we found out that prog wasn't really " dead
so in the late 90's we discover these incredible awesome bands:
Porcupine Tree.
I read a very good article about this new band called Porcupine Tree in Brain Damage A Pink Floyd fanzine. they were highly recommended to hardcore PF and Prog fans. I happen to find a promotion copy in a local used CD store. the album was Signify and until this day it is one my favorite Porcupine tree album. I adore this band.
Dream theater
I kept hearing so many people taking about this band being a awesome new prog called prog-metal and blah, blah, blah, So I finally had a chance to check them out. I wasn't impress by them I even thought they were just a polish Metal band. until I heard Change of Season I became a fan. Now I really adore them as well.
OZric Tentacles.
In the late 90's there were a prog kind of festival in NYC where I went to see Porcupine Tree, Levin& Bruford Upper extremities, Gong and Terje Rypdal. So also,,,,, Blah Blah, I head many fans at the Gong's concert asking me if I was going to see Ozric Tentacles. I had no idea who they were, but because the fans spoke sooo highly about them I motivated to check them out live And let me tell you. I loved them from the first time I saw them at this very tiny place. Their music to my ear was prog-fusion. All the element that I love in a band. loud drums,but jazzy. Excellent guitar's solo and incredible superb sythezinser sound that brought to mind late 70's and early 80's tangerine Dream.
These 3 bands had become our 3 favorite band of today prog. I think I have all their albums.

It is 2008 25 years later and our love for this peculiar, still underrated and sometimes even " hated" music genre continue to grow as solid as a rock. Our Love for prog is even bigger and Stronger than ever.
I haven't stop discovering and loving new bands in the new century that also deserved to be mentioned and praised.
These are the bands:
Anekdoten, Aglangard, Nexus, Vanden Plas, Riveside, Wrpl, The Mars volta, Tool, SBB, Quella vecchia Locanda, Osanna,Ahvak, BuBu, Flor de Loto, Amarok, Big Elf, Paatos, Museo Rosenbach, OSI, Espiritu, Tempano, and many many more that I can't recall at this moment.
All these bands I also highly recommend them.
If you happen to love 70's prog and would like to add more great new and old bands to your collection. You should check all bands out. You might be a little bit Broke, but I guaranteed that "You won't be disappointed. I am that confident.

To give a conclusion to this pretty long introduction of who I am, as you can see prog is my passion and it has a serous part in life as artist and my daily life. I can't really remember how it started and where the idea came from, but this past year I have been making all these collages that had become a joyful hobby. the greatest encouragement is my love for this music that means so much to my life. Like hardcore sport fans
Instead of wasting my time in trying to like today mainstream music. Istill live in the past and bright future of the prog world.
